Steven's kinds fake professional smile faded to an all too real grin. He couldn't shake the feeling, but something about this dragon felt strange, not good or bad, but strange. He was looking forward to talking with her more all the same.

"Shall we be off then Steven?" Diana said starting for the doors. "Two hours isn't very long after all."

"Of course." Steven said, standing aside and awaiting Diana to lead the way.

Diana led them to a pretty fancy restaurant, nothing like the one they were before, and the waiter there led them to a large table that was also out of the way enough to be private.

Steven felt he was suddenly outclassed in every way, but did just as much to appear right for the scene. He puffed out his chest, sported his wide smile, and kept his hat tipped forward, a thing he often did to appear edgy and aloof.

Diana sat down, ordered a bottle of wine and send the waiter away while they got ready to order. Then she focused her attention on Steven. "Where to begin?" She asked with a smile. "I suppose we should get the PDA business out of the way."

"certainly." He said, not realizing he'd been holding it in his hand the entire time. It was a bit sweaty and he did his best to wipe it off before handing it over, "Here you go. Good as new." He said, handing it off.

"Thank you." Diana said taking it and trying to operate it, though the device was quite clumsy in her large paws. "This is going to keep the scientists and librarians busy for a long time." She said giving up and placing the PDA on the table. "Were you satisfied with your visit to see the generators?"

"Yes. I understand it'll take time to finish them. I suppose it'll take a while, so I can continue to shed a positive light on the human race." he said.

"I hope so." Diana replied. "That's why I asked them to send over someone with good social skills. Someone that can show us your human side and that's willing to experience our dragon side. Someone that's easy to talk to. Would you say you are someone like that?"

"Judging from my interactions so far, yeah, I think so. It helps that our differences seem to only be skin deep, so to speak." he said picking up the menu, "If the humans had asked for such a dragon, who would they have sent?"

"It's hard to say." Diana replied. "There would probably be a lot of screening to do to find the right candidate. But if it wasn't for my position I would have volunteered myself. I'm probably not the best, but I would try really, really hard to be as social as I could. Luckily for me it worked out the other way around."

"Interesting." Steven said, putting down the paper, "So would you count as the current representative of the Dragons?"

"Yes I am." Diana replied. "If there were meetings and extensive negotiations going on I would be the one heading the side of the dragons. But as things are new we're merely testing the waters. I suppose that gives me some excuse to act more casually."

"Testing the waters, eh? Think thus could be any interview than?" Steven said, pulling out his notebook.

"An interview? Now does that sound casual to you?" Diana asked. "I was thinking about talking, learning and experiencing. But if you do want to make this more formal then you'll have to give me a reason to answer every question you ask. A bit of give and take. That's normal in political circles, yes?" She said with a sly smile.

Steven countered with a sly smile of his own, "Ah, but this is for a book in working on. So this is more a personal interview than anything else."

"A book? That does sound interesting." Diana replied. "What kind of book is it?"

"Originally a fantasy novel on dragons. Guess now it gets to be nonfiction." He said, "And you can ask me questions as well. Then at least there's some sort of cultural exchange here."

Diana sat back and thought about the proposition. The waiter also arrived with their wine. He poured some in a glass for Steven to taste as well as waiting to get their order and it seemed like Diana was waiting for Steven to finish all that before giving an answer.

"I'll have the steak please. Medium." He said, taking a sip of the wine. He hoped it was of the sweeter variety, but wouldn't mind a slightly more bitter wine of that's what they brought.

The wine was definitely more sweet than bitter, but the taste wasn't something familiar to Steven's earth. "I'll have the steak as well." Diana ordered. "With lots of vegetables and a mushroom sauce please."

"Do you guys have A1 steak sauce?" Steven asked. Pointing to the wine and nodding his approval.

"I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the term, Sir." The waiter answered as he poured the wine into the glasses. "If it has a distinct taste our chef could try and make a similar sauce for you."

"I wouldn't be able to put it into words. Could you just sautee some onions and mushrooms and drizzle on that mushroom sauce Miss Diana was talking about?" He said.

"Very well, Sir." The waiter said and left. Diana tasted the wine. "Alright. Let's try this interview of yours. You've piqued my interest."

"But that would put me at a disadvantage since I wouldn't know what kind of questions you'd need for your book." Diana countered. "My question may set the standard to your favor."

"Fair enough. I just didn't want to risk something too personal. How about this. How many different types of dragons are there?"
|
|

"Mainly there are three distinct classes of dragons." Diana told him. "Runners like the waiter here. Fliers that can obviously fly and earth dragons like myself. Of course there are a lot more diversity than that. Your guard, Ryze, for instance would be a runner, but with her size and other features she is also vastly different from more common runners. How about humans? How many different types are there of you?"
