You asked me to teach you, and I will. There's only one condition. I will quote that movie you clearly like so much. Empty your cup. You have to come into this with no past in roleplay. You know nothing. This is important for two reasons. A) You have no knowledge of roleplay so everything I tell you should feel like a first time hearing it. You can make connections and learn how this works from the perspective one who doesn't have to integrate knew knowledge into old understanding. Everything should be knew. B) You have never failed, never messed up, and have no past bad experiences. You can go into this with a feeling that nothing can or will be held against you because to me and you, nothing has ever happened. Now, there's one more condition. Bio will be my co-teacher. This is because I'm only a good roleplayer because we work together, know how to communicate, and understand what makes each other tick/how to avoid ticking each other off. In the end, Bio will be allowed to comment and such on our lessons, because I can be long winded, beat around the bush, and generally hard to understand.
If these terms are acceptable, then we can move forward. Otherwise, me helping you with a character sheet (as I have done many times in the past) will only be counterproductive and cause unnecessary conflict.

I'm going to create a character sheet. Characters are one of the cement building blocks of a good rp. Before we can start building with blocks, we need to make the blocks.

Name: ObviousAge: ObviousGender: ObviousPersonality: This is how your character thinks, feels, and behaves. This comes in two levels and I've devided thinking, feeling, and behavior into the three fields for each level of personality.- Primary Traits: The primary traits are those witnessed by everyone you meet. They exist on the surface in plain view and dictate 80% of your actions.
- Mental: This should be obvious, but it's basically just how your think. What's your train of thought like? What do you think about most and how intelligent are you?
- Emotional: Again, this should be obvious, but it's how your character feels. What's your emotional stability like? Which emotions do you default to when reacting to something or when your at rest emotionally?
- Physiological: This one should confuse you. It's just how your character reacts and behaves physically. What are the things your character will do without even thinking about it. A nervous twitch, a gesture (like straightening their hair back with their hand or rolling their eyes at something) or even a sound they make often and in reaction to most things. This could be as simple as, he's prone to smiling at just about everyone they meet, or as complicated as, he whistles to get peoples attention, or just make special note of something, and tends to clap or snap at people like he's trying to draw the attention of a dog or other pet.
[/ul]
- Secondary Traits: These are the traits that span the area of "only seen by close friends and known by yourself" and "so deeply rooted, you're not even aware you're capable of thinking, feeling, and behaving this way until others draw it out of you" This section should be notably smaller then the first.
- Mental: These are the secret ways you think, weather that's secret to others or yourself. They are tendencies that don't crop up as often as the primary mental traits. Another way to look at these are the ways of thinking you only use while with your friends.
- Emotional: These are the less used feelings that are still well within the scope of your character. Is your intelligent character secretly in love or your apathetic character capable of great compassion to a select few? These traits can never be more prominent then the primary traits, unless it's in the case of an extreme reaction. For example, Broly is normally level headed and believes he deals even justice. However, there are cases where his secret vengeance side comes out and he believes in paying back wrongdoings with interest.
- Physiological: These are the reactions reserved for when your character is surprised or otherwise behaving according to the secondary mental and emotional traits. What's your characters flight or fight response and how does he act it out?
[/ul] Physical Description: - naked:
- Eye Color: Obvious
- Skin Tone: Obvious
- Hair color: Obvious
- Hair Style: Obvious
- Facial hair (Optional): Obvious
- Height: Obvious
- Approximate Build: Are you muscular or thin or somewhere in between?
- Other Prominent features (Optional): Scars or other features that aren't "normal" Dual eye colors, or birthmarks? These will almost indefinitely be tied to birth or back story.
[li]Clothes/Accessories: What does your character wear and have with him almost all the time. This should also show the theme of what your character will wear if he needs to change into swim cloths, winter cloths, or cloths from different timelines and the like.[/li] - Shoes: Obvious.
- Pants: Obvious.
- Shirt: Obvious.
- Head: Obvious.
- Coats: Obvious.
- Other Accessories (optional): Obvious.
[/ul] Bio: This is the back story for your character. It will describe where you're character has been. Where your character is in life, and where your character is trying to go or otherwise attain in life, basically his aspirations. the hardest part about this portion, is only including what's important. The way you include only what's important, is to only include what back story is necessary to tie together everything above about the character. Why does your character think, feel, act, look, and dress the was they do. Why is your character capable of the primary and secondary traits you've described.
- Past: First, you should describe where your character has been. It's also important to know how far back to go. You only need to include a birthplace if it's important to your characters growth or relation to other characters (which it usually is) and you would want to detail your characters past relationships and who played an important role in your characters life. You'll also want to add important moments and events of your characters past that made your character who they are today.
- Present: For this, you're changing focus from what happened to the here and now. You'll be talking about who your character is and how his past made him like this. This part should be greatly smaller then the rest and only describe the present relative to the past. It will focus on your Primary mental, emotional, and physiological traits and how your past shaped those traits.
- Future: Lastly, what is your characters aspirations. What is his life leading to and what does he want? What are his desires and how does he plan on acquiring them. This should be the smallest section of the Bio and simply completes the where you were, where you are, and where you're going, pattern.

Name: Broly UltimatrixAge: 52Gender: MalePersonality: - Primary Traits: Intelligent, compassionate and wrathful as pushed to, trusting but not quick to forgive wrongdoing.
- Mental: Analytic and calculating to the point of robotic excess, Broly has an abundance of intelligence, though he lacks wisdom and used to lack any ability to think on an emotional level or even take them into account when making a decision. This is, of course, before the time he spent in self banishment. While he's still extremely intelligent and analyzes everything, he's learned how to add emotions into mental calculations and beyond. With other people, Broly inherently analyzes, and attempts to predict, everything a new face will try and do. This doesn't, however, stem into a greater issue of trust. Whether it's because he believes he can predict whatever a new face will do or believes himself powerful enough to overcome any threat, he also believes the good in those whom prove themselves.
- Emotional: In his early years, Broly could be arguably said to have felt nothing, at least in the midst of combat. He's capable of the full spectrum of emotions and the only emotions he doesn't feel often are the ones he's not given the chance to feel. He's not quick to jump the gun, get angry, or pass judgment. That said, once he's pushed to the point of feeling you deserve his rage, and utmost pain, he won't stop until he feels justified. During these times, he becomes sadistic on a psychotic level. All that intelligence and anger are channeled into a blank stare and sinister smile of one who won't simply kill you. He'll make you suffer until you wish for death and then live if only to pass on the legend of his wrath. After these moment, few as they may be, Broly is then hit with extreme guilt to match the extreme anger, which could give his character a feeling of being an extremist, but most of the time he's a pretty level headed guy. Still best not to make him angry, though.
- Physiological: Broly stands with an air of confidence but doesn't try to draw attention to himself. Generally speaking, he sports a small, kind smile and will greet you with a bow, handshake, wave, or whatever greeting you initiate or would be appropriate to the situation. He often thinks to himself, closing his eyes and interlocking his fingers over his mouth as he does. During the moments where he must maintain more composure, he'll still close his eyes, but he'll look up in thought as opposed to the finger movement. When thinking of a lot of things, or over a long period of time, he starts to get fidgety and tap his fingers on whatever's nearby. During these moments, he almost looks nervous, but he's just getting his mind into a rhythm to help him collect and pace his thoughts. Broly is not inherently loud, either, preferring a silent gaze of disdain to yelling his frustrations or letting his actions speak for themselves, since words can often be misinterpreted.
[/ul]
- Secondary Traits: Deep care for a love of his friends, especially Twilight. Any failure, even imagined, sends him into depression.
- Mental: Broly obviously thinks hard on the future, but during the quiet moments where he's alone and not really doing anything, his thoughts drift to the past and he think back on the good ol' days like an old man in a rocking chair.
- Emotional: Even as an analytic genius, Broly cares deeply for the well being and longevity of his friends. He loves Twilight with all his heart, mind, and soul, and feels thankful for her and her friends always.
- Physiological: Even when feeling the less used emotions, the same pattern holds true. The more he's feeling or thinking, the less he'll show of it on his face. Even with this, mostly for Twilight, he can be seen experiencing his emotions to their fullest, even crying real tears or laughing uncontrollably. During these times, he let's loose his inhibitions and allows himself to live in the moment, instead of just existing to predict the moment.
[/ul] Physical Description: In Broly's case, he actually has two main forms. His pony form, and his human form. While he can freely switch between these forms, it takes a while ot make the switch itself so he'll wear one or the other for a long while, preferring the pony form to his human form.
- Eye Color: Almost white blue that glow with a silver light in pitch darkness. He actually has no control over this feature, like he does his other features. No matter how hard he tries, his eyes will always be in this form. As such, he has these eyes in both Pony and Human form.
- Skin Tone: Broly's normal skin tone in human form is a dark khaki color like caramel or drown sugar. In his pony form, his skin is white but his coat is midnight black.
- Hair color: In human form, Broly's hair is a very dark brown. From a distance, it's almost black. In pony form, his mane and tail hold the same color scheme. Blue and a golden yellow. The blue is the prominent color and makes up over half of his tail and the entire portion of his mane from his forehead to just past the back of his ears. Yellow makes up the rest of his tail and the back portion of his mane from the back of the ears down to where his jawline would be.
- Hair Style: Broly's mane and tail are longer then other male ponies on average. His tail almost touches the ground and the top half is blue while the bottom half is yellow. Along it's length, various locks of hair stick out here and there, but it's generally just a long thick unite all it's own. His mane holds a style similar to a samurai of Japan, with the front, blue, portion pulled back into a small bun between his ears and the remaining yellow portion is basically a mat that frizzes all over but stays generally bunched up. In his human form, he wears his hair in the same style and just doesn't have a tail, obviously.
- Facial hair (Optional): Broly doesn't sport any facial hair, though he's been known to grow a small, think black mustache with sparse but long hair along the middle of his jawline. The beard and mustache don't connect in this case. In pony form, he never sports significant facial hair of any kind.
- Height: Broly stands a solid 5 feet 11 inches, making him taller then the average human. His pony height shares this taller then average trait, though it's to a much smaller degree.
- Approximate Build: Broly is only 145-150 lbs (65-68 kg) so this, combined with his height, makes him a rather thin individual. Despite this, he's covered with a dense muscle that, though not large, is very strong. He can even lift something almost as heavy as himself, though at that point he'll be straining. His physic, is actually more suited to flexibility and agility over brute strength, which explains why he fights as he does.
- Other Prominent features (Optional): The only notable feature on his are his eye's which deviate greatly from traditional eyes. Both in their near white silver blue hue and the eerie silver glow they shine with in darkness, it's the one feature on him that stands out to those who see him. The only other change to note is that his blood is white, almost as if it were light itself. It's not just white, but would actually light a room sufficiently if Broly were to start bleeding out. His blood, once it hits the air, evaporates instead of coagulating. He hardly ever bleeds in this manner, however, so not many people see his blood and how it behaves.
[li]Clothes/Accessories: In his pony form, he doesn't wear anything, not even a traditional saddlebag. These articles of clothing are then only pertaining to his human form.
[/li][/ul]
- Shoes: Broly wears boots, shoes, sandals, and flip flops as necessary for the weather and the situation. This is done mostly so all his attire follows a central theme. He always wears black boots, shows, or sandals, though he might venture to wear blue or yellow flip flops.
- Pants: Since he isn't in his human form often, he only really has two outfits that he'll wear. The first and most common is a traditional samurai gi, all black and a bit more streamlines then a traditional uniform. The pants portion are a little poofed out, but not enough to make it look like a dress. His other outfit is not unlike business casual. He'll usually wear black slacks that cover his ankles generously. they always appear freshly ironed, even after a bout of fighting a group of people. They might get dirty, temporarily, but they'll always look crisp.
- Shirt: While in the traditional gi, he wears a white shirt underneath the black gi top. the pants and top are tied together with a blue sash that's wide enough to offer a slight contrast to his dark uniform. In his business casual attire, he wears a white t-shirt under a long-sleeve, collared, button up shirt and usually wears either a black or dark blue tie (or holiday themed if that's what would fit.
- Head: Broly doesn't usually wear hats, for fashions sake at least, mostly because it would mess up his hair. It he did wear a hat it would either be a black fedora, a bamboo shade hat, or a brown cowbow hat, though he keeps this hat stored away as a momento to a friend.
- Coats: Again, Broly doesn't usually wear coats, unless the weather would require it, like snow or rain. Otherwise, he'll keep to his normal clothing.
- Other Accessories (optional): Broly doesn't carry any accessories on him, mostly because he can always summon whatever he needs from his vault in the shadow realm. If he needs a weapon or other piece, then he makes it from shadow material automatically. Because of this, he doesn't carry these things on him under normal circumstance.
[/ul] I'll edit the rest of this for my Bio later, but this should be good enough to help you get started with your character. Bio: This is the back story for your character.
First, enlighten me. What EXACTLY did YOU do?
Second, at least 75% of our characters, possibly 80, are predetermines characters that we all, or at least one of us, knows without a sheet. The other 25-20% are OC's that you should make a character sheet for yourself as nessesary for the roleplay and post to the Character Sheet thread I made a LONG time ago as well as into the first page of the roleplay if it's a side story like the pokemon RP, EQG 2, or the Dragon RP.
Third, ALL THIS TIME AND YOU LINK BACK AN EMPTY CHARACTER SHEET!!! REALLY!! You couldn't have filled it out while erasing all the information I spent DAYS!!!!!!!! typing and refining!!! REALLY!!!
And forth!! Are you giving ME lessons in GMing? SERIOUSLY!!! I'm not the best or even a good GM at times, but this whole thread, conceited as it sounds, is about you and helping you. I SPENT DAYS WORKING ON THAT EXTREMELY DETAILED CHARACTER SHEET AND EVEN SENT IT TO BIO BEFORE I POSTED IT AND THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO SAY IS POST A BLANK ONE NEXT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY!!!

This character sheet will detail your character like never before. You know your character because the character is just you in this world. You know all your powers and personality, and your characters entire back story. You shouldn't need to post anything new, just type everything you already know about your character and we'll help you flesh out what needs to be fleshed out.

A character can be erratic and still observable. His erratic tendencies define him and are predictable to a point. You're character isn't erratic, he's inconsistent. You need to create a character that is consistent. Not just a being that you always cookie cut into whatever shape and flavor you need him to be to fill some quip you want to do in story and then after you've done your little thing have no idea what to do because your character no longer fits the situation.
Hint: Work from your characters past forward. Don't try and pinpoint where Raider is, but think back to a time when you knew exactly what he was. Back before any life altering events. For Raider this would be waking up in this world at the guild. Then build and change his character one step at a time based on the things he's been through, the people he's met, and the people he still knows. It would be like this:
Broly at start: Trained with others > Friends with Bio and Raider > Left them to train alone > Training 1 > Training 2 > ... Training 5 > Get's back with friends > Fights the Dark One > About a year of normal work > Comes to Equestria > and so on and so forth
Each event had a significant effect on Broly's character and he is who he is today because of these events. If you do the same and think about how your character was effected by each moment, then you'll have a character you know and understand.

You said you had your characters past down to a finality, so why's the Bio section of the character sheet still empty? And the physical description should be one of the easiest fields to fill out.
