ooc: Okay, I know Clay isn't your best character, but... Daring said they should enter and exit one at a time and that pretty much is the same thing as only having one pony in the water since they're entering and exiting through the water. And I haven't let Daring notice the other ponies and what has been happening with them since I wanted to give Clay his chance here at the dance, since I don't have to have Daring help the others right now. So you having Clay concentrate on what the others are doing, when neither Ever or Mith was even concentrating on each other, instead of spending time with Daring feels a little like Clay didn't even want to do this. In contrast your playing Dex and Cloud very well. Ever burst through Tor's door to see her on her bed in tears. "Tor?" Ever said, her own tears streaming down her face. Tor lifted her head out of the pillow. "Ever... I..." But that was all she could manage. Ever rushed over to hug her friend. "I'm sorry Tor, this is all my fault. I'm so sorry, I wont let this happen ever again." Mith ran into the room to see her two friends crying on each others' shoulders. She closed the door and walked over to hug them both.

Clay finished his drink with another quick swig and sat the cup in the table. The song changed back to a quicker piece and multiple ponies made their way back to the dance floor. He turned to Daring, "And now we dance!" He said confidently and full of energy but followed it up, "if you're up to it." He said in question notation and just the hint of challenge in it.
Cloud got up when the girls were inside and Dex laid on the ground motionless for a bit while he tried to make sense of everything. Cloud was quiet while Dex collected himself and after was seemed like forever, but was only a minute or two, Dex got up and started walking. Not anywhere in particular, but walking mostly for the sake of walking. Cloud followed alongside and the two walked quietly into the night, approaching and circling the boys dorm.
OOC: I typed this on my phone, so forgive any errors I might have missed.

Tor finally cried herself to sleep and Ever and Mith decided to spend the night in her room so she wouldn't have to be alone. As they left to get their pillows and blankets Ever stopped Mith outside the door. "Your family uses explosives to split rock right? Can you get a hold of some?" Ever asked. Mith looked back at her worryingly, but nodded. "I can." "Thanks Mith." Ever said and went to her room. She only stayed long enough to write out a quick letter before getting her things and heading back to Tor's room.
"I knew we'd have to do this sooner or later." Daring answered. "Lets see if your feet are as confident as your mouth." She smiled.

"I'll make sure to go at your pace. Wouldn't want you to get worn out." Clay joked sarcastically and started to the dance floor alongside Daring. The song was picking up now and most of the ponies were in full swing now.

"You picked the wrong pony if you think dancing will get the better of me." Daring said. When they were on the dance floor Daring didn't start off slowly, but fell quickly and naturally into the beat of the song.

Clay just smiled and fell into the dance shortly after Daring did. His dance was fast with small but smooth movements Not a single thing he did was jerky or jagged and each movement flowed smoothly into the next. In spite of his unique style, he managed to still be dancing "with" her and she did have his attention despite the focus his style would normally take.
After a while walking, Dex took a seat in on a bench and Cloud sat beside him. Dex was otherwise quiet and Cloud took the time to fill him in on what probably happened. Once Dex heard, he understood why she'd have to go, but he was still sad. Cloud decided it would be best if he spent the night at his place and they could grab a small bite to eat. Food would often help him feel better. Dex silently agreed and the two headed up to Clouds dorm.

"That's an interesting dance." Daring said as they continued dancing. "Did you make it up yourself?"

"I guess you could say that." Clay said, staying in beat, "It just came naturally with what I do, "And I'm not talking about ballet." He said with a grin.

"Really?" Daring asked. "And what's wrong with ballet? Afraid you'd look terrible in a leotard?"

"Nope, I don't like the tights. They never breath right." Clay said half joking, "And while I can enjoy a ballet performance, I'm not one to participate myself. Just not my thing I guess."

"So you are afraid of the leotards." Daring joked. "I don't blame you. You do need certain kind of body for them."

"If you say so." Clay said shrugging quickly, "Anyway, I keep myself in peak physical condition and I do look up to Ballet dancers for being able to do the same. It takes a lot of strength and skill to pull off those moves."

"An actual compliment. Thank you." Daring said. "I suppose you are able to surprise me and not get me angry after all."

"I do what a can." Clay said grinning lightly. The song was slowing now and coming to a close.

Daring also slowed down with the song, but didn't show any signs of stopping or leaving the dance floor.

Keeping in time, Clay continued dancing as well. He didn't show any fatigue, though he was getting a good workout from this. The transition to the next song was sudden but smooth and while not as fast as the last song, this one was still well paced. Clay continued to step in time with Daring, almost thinking of this as a challenge more then a simple dance. And he would not be outdone.

OOC: how about we jump to after the dancing? Maybe a final song by the dj or literally the end of the dance.

ooc: Ah, I wanted to show of Daring's ball room dancing. She was raised in Canterlot so learning ball room and ballet was all part of her upbringing. It also falls into the Lara Craft and Indiana Jones archetypes where they have these sophisticated parts to them that they rarely display. And also the heist dance scene where the thief dances with the cop to try and get the upper hand (the cop trying to figure out the scam and the thief making the diversion).

The song changed to a waltz and Daring fell into step with it. "I hope you know how to dance together." She said. "I'm really not looking forward to sore hooves."

Clay fell into step as quickly as Daring and was surrounded by a newfound focus, "I'll have you know my hoof-eye coordination is top of the class. You're hooves have nothing to worry about." He said with a grin and he looked right to Daring, each hoof landing in its appropriate place.

"I suppose I should be relieved then." Daring smiled as she stuck with the song.
ooc: I'll let you move it into the faster pace.

Clay stayed with the music and with daring. He kept his gaze, but it wasn't intense. Unlike before, clay was calm now, though he would call it boring. And though every step was on que and his movements still smooth, it managed to feel forced, or really, like he wasn't into it at all. The music picked up and clay followed suit, still he wasn't really into it. Despite thus, his focus remained on daring and making sure he was dancing with her, holding his gaze and unwavering in his smooth movements. OOC: Sorry, I kind of went to town with this.

Daring actually looked like she was enjoying herself, putting everything she had into the dance and not even feeling that tired thanks to all the training with Tor.

As the song picked up pace, Clay's resolve dwindled and dwindled until he was putting his whole body into the dance. One might say his dance was flashy, though still maintaining the traditional way to perform it. Despite this and his mounting excitement, he maintained his focus, glad to see Daring appear to enjoy herself and that helping him hold back his urge to dance freely. He really didn't want to ruin the evening for her.

OOC: We can end this here. I think we've got the gist of this dance. We going to have them part ways at the door or will Clay walk Daring to her dorm? Since neither of the other guys got that far.

ooc: I think they should part at the door.
The dance faded and the next dance started up. Daring stopped with the end of the waltz however. "I think I'll have another drink." She said starting off the floor. "I have to give you props for holding your own there though."

Clay followed Daring off the floor, happy to have impressed her. He only showed a grin, not wanting to be too cheeky, "And it's good to see you're not all talk as well, but what else could I expect."

"Thanks." Daring said. "And I should probably say that you made it up to me, if the whole cave thing is true. So yeah, sorry if I gave you a hard time before."
